merverb: the business of being a mermaid & a verb
disneytangledconfessions:

“I hate that they make the Queen talk in “Tangled ever after” I feel like they completely ruined the essence of the character, the beautiful about her and the King is that you understand them even when they don’t talk at all”

am I the ONLY ONE who thinks AND ALWAYS THOUGHT her voice was made all harsh and mean in Tangled Ever After as a complete fabrication on the part of a stressed-out horse?  I mean REALLY
it WOULD “ruin the essence” to a point if she really spoke like the considering her gentle character.  But notice how they look at the weird muddied Maximus and Pascal, or hhow they hug at the end.  They are still gentile, they are the same silent couple from the original.  the voice was a stressed out horse’s exaggeration of the worst scenario.  As one who often exaggerated the worst scenario, I see this easily.
Also this was made by the same people who made Tangled.  Do you really think they’d make a mockery of their own work?  I think making her act so obnoxious in a daydream/daynightmare was kind of the POINT - to shock the audience completely, and it worked

disneytangledconfessions:

“I wish the film would have shown more of Rapunzel’s problems. Gothel constantly put her down, manipulated, and controlled her. After putting up with that for 18 years, with no one else to talk to, you’d think she’d have a lot of mental scaring and issues. As someone who had a mother like Gothel, I found it disappointing that they didn’t tap into this like they should have. It could have led to her healing, growing, and led to a more intimate moments between Rapunzel and Flynn.”

I see what you mean, and believe me I always wish for MORE TANGLED, but I think it was simply a matter of time.  Tangled is already the longest disney animated film after Fantasia, which doesn’t really count because it’s a collection of stories.  Not including credits, it’s over 1 hour and 30 minutes; compare that to The Little Mermaid’s 1 hour and 18 minutes… that’s 12 minutes extra, - an extra 15%!!!!

Considering the VAST amount of material Tangled had to cover, both psychologically and just purely plot wise, I think they handled it excellently, and with a delicate hand!

NOW YOU KNOW ABOUT HER SCANDOLOUS PAST AS A DISNEY SEQUEL VOICE ACTOR
